Acknowledging
this, three musicians decided to develop a hybrid, composed of the animal
sequences improvised on the framework of a central-Breton repertoire of
laments and marches.
The
trio Ornitorink's music, just like its eponymous animal, is an unlikely
grouping which mixes traditional aboriginal music, a repertoire of Breton
chant, Central African rhythms, Tibetan tones and modal improvisation,
forming a surprising and often amusing ensemble.
